Specialized’s Armadillo Elite tire is a great choice for road riders looking for a durable, well-rounded tire that can handle most conditions.
The Armadillo Elite is designed to be fast, with a tread pattern that provides good traction in wet and dry conditions. Specialized’s directional tread pattern features specialised directional grooves that provide excellent performance in cornering and braking. The shoulder knobs are placed at an angle to help prevent squirm, while the centre knobs are arranged in zig-zag formation to provide better braking and cornering grip. The overall design of the tire helps improve handling characteristics without sacrificing comfort.
The Armadillo Elite features a very rigid shoulder design with cross cut grooves to help prevent pinch flats and reduce rolling resistance. The sidewalls are very thick to resist punctures, but still flexible enough to provide cushioning, making this a comfortable ride even on rough pavement or gravel roads.
